Dev Log #11 - New Dialogue Code & Q&A

Hello hello! On my path to re-creating the quest code, I realized I need to create the dialogue code first. So, that's what I did this week! Before we talk about that, here's some hot new artwork for everyone!

Dialogue

I said this before, my old dialogue code isn't that bad. I did this whole thing where multiple dialogues can be played via on Phaser scene and blah blah blah, I pretty much copied all the good bits. I removed dialogue trees and branches. I felt like I big brained those dialogue trees a little too hard. Truth is, I just need one Dialogue class and I can build as much as I need from that.

I have updated the look of dialogues to look more like how they used to be. I switched to the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen because I didn't like my dialogue box, but I created a new dialogue box that looks much better. Along with that, I updated the way the question / answers look during dialogues. Nice big buttons that can supply more information than before, and it's more clear on mobile!

Luckily I was able to sort all this dialogue code stuff out quickly, next up should be quests unless I forget something else along the way 🤔

Q&A

Q: When is the full game coming out?

A: That's a good question to ask now, because every day I'm starting to think we're ready for an "Early Access" release on all platforms. Think of Hades, this game was totally playable in early access, but they kept adding to it. That's practically what I'll be doing with Queen's Brothel, so I figure I'll put a price on the game and have it available for everyone. That way, people can buy the game as a whole and not have to worry about subscribing to my patron for updates. We'll think about it when I'm done with this version.

Q: How are you doing? Hope everything is well!

A: Doing great buddy. Developing Queen's Brothel gives me hope.

Q: Each girl has a special move, do they get an animation or voice clip to go with it?

A: Animation, no. Voice clip, yes I was planning on getting a voice clip for when you activate the girl's ultimate.

Q: Can we have an elf girl orgy?

A: I'm down for an elf orgy, what would the cause of the orgy be?

Q: Will we see more girls join the brothel in the future?

A: That was a thought I had in the past, but I'm over it now. We have 6 girls, that's all I want for the game.

Q: Will there be a chance of pregnancy?

A: Pregnancy heavily counters the freeuse vibe I am creating for the game. I want the girls to bang dudes with no consequence.

Q: Do you plan to add a "post-final" open world someday?

A: I think the people looking for an "open world" aren't actually looking for an open world, what's always better are quests that revolve around a story. Meaningless open world sex won't do anything, so instead of an open world, I'd rather just keep creating quests and the world will build itself.

Q: Are you likely to add futa or lesbian client types in the future?

A: If time permits. LN is busy, we can't create animations anytime we want.

Q: When is the next free update going to be available?

A: All of these dev logs are leading up to a free update. Give me a little more time.

Q: Will we see a Sabrina sex tape?

A: We will satisfy all the horny gamers who are into goth girls, don't worry.

Q: Addition of butt c*m decals in the near future?

A: Girls can't turn around, I don't know how I would implement that.

Q: Is the footjob option coming soon?

A: Feet won't be a skill in the game, but there will definitely be footjob side quests. Heck, we're working on a scene for one right now.

Q: What was your inspiration for making such a great game..?

A: Breeding Season and SimBro. I played those games for more than a day, and then I wanted to make my own adult game that people play for longer than a day.

Q: If you had to pick an NPC to spend some time with, why would you pick Lilith?

A: Hanging out with the succubus mommy sounds like a fun time!

Q: Is there any way we can level up faster?

A: Click the gold icon 8 times.

Q: How many people are in your team? Is this your main job?

A: I'm the solo programmer / writer / everything other than art. I have 6 artists working with me. This is no ones main job.
